Happy Turkey Day!

On Thanksgiving my fellow Canadians (Mo and Logan) gathered to cook Turkey Dinner.
As there is no Turkey in Iwaki we settled for roasted chicken and stuffing cooked in the oven, but both were delicious. We also had mashed potatoes, boiled carrots and salad. We followed dinner with my very own homemade applecrisp! Yummy! It was wonderful to celebrate with the guys and it was perhaps the most 'homemade' meal I have ever had the pleasure of eating in Japan!

Nicole Shaw Sushi Chef!

Hitomi making sushi!
My friend Hitomi came over to my apartment for a dinner about a month ago. I made tacos and she taught me how to made sushi!! It was so tasty and so easy! We made the type of sushi that is a roll of rice and nori (seaweed). In our rolls we put various combinations of cucumber, cream cheese, meat balls and crab. Traditional eh?
